His father was a college basketball player. So athletic talent ran in his family. But Taylor always put just as much energy into academics.

College

The football star would attend Wisconsin. Taylor would play for the school from 2017-2019. His on-field numbers in college were huge. It was evident that Taylor was capable of playing on the next level. Not just play but excel!

Pros

He would be selected in the 2nd round, 41st overall pick, by the Indianapolis Colts in 2020. His impact on the game for the Colts was immediate. He set records for Indianapolis as a rookie.

The Future

Taylor is a throwback running back, a powerful runner who can dominate the game on the ground. In recent years, NFL offensive play has been focused on the air.

Quarterbacks have played a bigger role and have dominated a team’s offensive attack. But Taylor is the focus of the Indianapolis offense. What makes him an even more dangerous weapon is he has developed into a strong passing option out of the backfield.

The Colts have started the 2025 season surprisingly strong. Taylor has been a big reason, and he has been leading them on the offensive side of the ball. The Colts are a contender, and Jonathan Taylor is a major reason why.
