Ja and the Nike team began sharing ideas about what the III could look like early in the process. The brainstorming sessions took place in person and over email. The Morant family was also involved in the creation. The shoe is a very personal creation for not just Ja, but also the Morant family.
The all-star guard painted the Swoosh on the shoe. It has a special angle to it that is reminiscent of the letter “J.”
One goal of the Ja series is to keep an affordable price point. So, it was a challenge to add innovation to the model. The team got creative.
For the first time, a Nike basketball shoe has a layered full-length hybrid ZoomX Foam. The 3 is specifically designed to keep Ja locked in as he makes the quick change of direction moves he is known for.

At 6’3, Ja is a point guard who can do anything on the basketball court. His handles and court vision are at an elite level.
What really makes him special is his athleticism. His speed is second to none on the court; he can get from point A to B in a flash.
What makes Ja a regular on social media and YouTube mixtapes is his explosiveness when attacking the rim. His dunks are some of the best and most ferocious of all time. His elevation and hangtime are seemingly limitless.
Ja Morant is one of the most exciting and talented players in the NBA. There seems to be no limit to what he could accomplish in the league, whether it is MVP trophies or championship rings. The future of Ja Morant is extremely bright.
